解説：
尾節に毒針ともう一つ棘 (とげ) 状構造をもつことが特徴のサソリ類です。一般に、しっかりとした触肢をもっており、体色は黒いそうです。コガネサソリ科に近縁と考えられ、本科をコガネサソリ科内に含めるとする分類もあります。
