解説：
ヨーロッパに分布する洞窟性の特徴をもつ分類群。眼を欠く (Belisariusのみ)、色素が薄い、脚が細くなるなど洞窟性の形態的特徴をもっており、Sardoscorpiusは洞窟内、Belisariusは洞窟の入口付近に生息しているようです。
以前は、南米に分布するTroglotayosicusと併せてホラアナサソリ科 (Troglotayosicidae) とする分類が提唱されていましたが、Troglotayosicusと近縁であるという根拠が認められないことから、ヨーロッパに分布する2属で独立した科とする提唱がなされました。
